Q: What material are COPRO Pure® Lead-Free fittings made of?
A: The fittings are forged 36,500 Brass, as well a 69,300 Lead-free Brass(ASTM B-283), the gripping ring is made of a proprietary Stainless Steel, and the o-ring is EPDM pre-lubricated with an NSF-61 approved lubricant.
Q: Do you make COPRO Pure® in Lead-free Brass?
A: Yes, we manufacture a complete line of AB1953, lead law compliant Brass push fittings.
Q: What is the internal O-ring protector material?
A: Unlike our competitors, COPRO Pure® Lead-Free utilizes an integrated Brass o-ring guide, not plastic as in competitive alternatives.
Q: Do I need to prep the ends differently than a solder joint?
A: No, as with sweat copper fittings, the tube must be chamfered, de-burred and reamed (free from burrs and debris). Quick Fitting recommends the use of an Inner/Outer Reamer to chamfer, de-burr and ream tube ends. These steps are essential to ensure the proper connection of your COPRO Pure® Lead-Free push-to-connect fitting. Also, be sure to draw an insertion mark on the tube to indicate proper insertion of the tubing into the fitting.
Q: What types of tubing can be used with COPRO Pure® Lead-Free fittings?
A: COPRO™ connectors are ideal for use with Copper, CPVC and PEX.
Q: Should I use a tubing insert stiffener on Copper, PEX and CPVC?
A: A stiffener is only required when connecting COPRO to PEX tubing,

Q: Can a COPRO Pure® Lead-Free fitting blow off a water system?
A: NO, the grip ring technology utilizes an opposing force principle, which simply put, the higher the force used to pull the fitting, the deeper the fitting bites into the tubing.
Q: What have COPRO Pure® Lead-Free fittings been tested to at the factory?
A: COPRO Pure® Lead-Free fittings are factory tensile tested to over 900 PSI force and temperatures of 200 °F.
Q: What support hanger spacing must I use with my COPRO™ System?
A: Support is identical to a sweat system and should adhere to local codes. Always fully support heavy loads on your plumbing system.
Q: How do I test my COPRO™ System?
A: Pressure-tests should be conducted the same way as you would with a Copper sweat system. The system should be installed, pressurized and then held under pressure for a period determined by the local plumbing regulations.
Q: Do I need to lubricate the joint when installing?
A: No, COPRO’s seals are factory-lubricated with an NSF-61 approved lubricant.
Q: Do I still have to flush my system?
A: Yes, but the system will be cleaner and faster to flush since there is no solder or flux.

A: No, open flames should never be applied to the fitting or any surface within 10” of the installed connection.
Q: Should I use glue when installing COPRO Pure® Lead-Free fittings?
A: No, glues, adhesives or sealants are not required and should never be applied to the connection, fitting or tubing.

Q: Are the “pressure drops” and “frictional loss” the same for a COPRO™ as well as Copper sweat systems?
A: COPRO Pure® Lead-Free fittings are full flow (unrestricted) fittings offering superior flow characteristics. The pressure drops and friction loss are similar to that of sweat copper fittings.
Q: Can I rotate my COPRO Pure® Lead-Free push-to-connect fittings?
A: Yes, the fittings can be rotated 360 degrees while the system is not under pressure.
Q: Can I install COPRO Pure® Lead-Free in a water charged system?
A: Yes. COPRO Pure® Lead-Free fittings install on wet or dry tube. However, you should always depressurize your system before installing COPRO™ products.
Q: Can I re-use COPRO™ fittings?
A: Yes. Fittings may be removed and reused providing the o-ring seal has not been damaged.
COPRO™ Temperature and Pressure Ratings
Q: What working temperature/pressure is the COPRO™ System rated for?
A: 180 °F and 200 PSI. Typical plumbing systems operate between 40 – 90 PSI.
